Harper Columbia Bubble Book Record Giftie from Chris!
Просмотров 93310 лет назад
My friend and co-worker today gifted me with this fabulous little 5" shellac piece. It is Daddy Long Legs and the Floppy Fly. Now, you all know how I love my children' records especially the early incarnations. I am playing it on an India made Parlophone reproduction phonograph and this little phono REALLY does justice to this tiny, early treasure! Heartfelt thanks to Chris and his parents (and...
VV-VI-A Cleaning and Test Run
Просмотров 78810 лет назад
Skeetie found this VV-VI-A at an estate sale. It's serial # is 339971. Polished, oiled and all screws tightened and we're ready for a test drive. This is the rare 1 year they made the horn opening without slats making it even louder than your average Victrola with the only damping method being closing the doors partially.

1950's Rare Oddball Fuller Brush Salesman Training Phonograph
Thanks for sharing this Gene Autry version. Although it’s cool to use the antique windup victrola, the sound would be sooo much better if you played it on a 1947-1958 Zenith with a cobra tone arm; also would be far less damaging to the record. Every time you play that record on that old windup, the grooves are being damaged.
Does anyone have an audio of the story part? trying to track it down for my Mom-"Pine, spruce, Balsam, it's a tree and it's here!" I think it came with "The littlest Christmas Tree". It was one of our Christmas traditions, along with watching Hardrock Coco and Joe and Suzy Snowflake.
Got this 78 record Christmas 1953 Remember every word
What a throwback! I was born in 1957 and I listened to this one at home! If I recall, the 78 record was green. I may still have it. :)
If I'm interpreting an article I found in the August 24, 1951 edition of the Chicago Daily Tribune, correctly -- Jean Shaw is the alter go of Agnes Fisher. The article I found is by Rosemary Fox, and it focuses on someone named Agnes Ready. (Was EVERYBODY named Agnes then??) "Under the guidance of Miss Agnes Fisher, the 'Jean Shaw' of Sears..."
We had the one about the little (black?) duck sitting in the water,... doing what he oughter. He took a bite of the lily pad....
Not seventies most likely mid 60's
Wow 😊 congratulations Barbie and Ken!
Just how a great old blues should be played.
Only recall hearing this 45 years ago on the Dr Demento show .🎉
I just listed this this after a friend mentioned he has the 78RPm record. Extremely annoying laughter is right.
Nice records and nice record player too. I have a couple of those Admiral units!
Have mystical, magical, musical day… 🥲 Wherever you are Sweetie 🥰
I am still here on my channel Sideshowtink!! Happy Halloween 🎃
hello tink how are you doing i hope that you and your family are well and going strong i hope that you had a great week and all the best and are finding great records all over best wishes and lots of fun times jon
Hi - do you who the singer is?
🎉🎉🎉🎉
I had that record when I was about 3 years old and would play it on our radio/record player! 😁
I found a mint condition copy of this record at a local garage sale. around 1980
I love those dramatic chord changes
This just popped up again on my list of YT videos. Thinking of you.
the play of this song was joyous
Classic shit, haha!
Omg I’m crying for real right now. I used to have this record and played it non stop. Thanks so much for bringing back this memory ❤😍🥲
I like this Stereo :):)
Tink, This was beautiful ! I adore Leonard Cohen ! I also love his female back up singers. His lyrics were genius ! I love his song Anthem too !
Omg thanks for the memories
So pretty I think that this stereo was made in many colors I've seen a blue and yellow one
I’m the first one to comment in 12 years.
My dad had an album called Christmas is for Children, and played it for us every year. This was my favorite!
I had that album too, Jimmy Durante singing Frosty the Snowman, and Lionel Barrymore reading The Night Before Christmas.... I looked a lot like the kid on the cover, my parents always told me it was me.
BEst record ever!!
1928
ultra cool
I would love to see the film displayed on a screen and would strongly encourage you to present this production just as you’ve done but with the images from the two canisters.
Beautiful song. Are you ever going to upload again? Thanks for sharing!
Cool!
I love old Latin music. It is so cool and great to dance to. My parents were lucky as they were in their early 20s in 1947 when this and others like it came out.
Where’s the other one? Where’s the mixer? Laser lights? #WhatACrappyDJ
I remember the Fuller Brush Man well. I am currently clearing out Mom's estate and there are several Fuller products hereabouts.
Always found & still do when adults talk down to kids !!
The name of the tune is 'The Frieze Breeches' Also the song 'Cúnla'.
I had both the equipment and the record. Sigh …
Is this side-2 of "Tell Me a Story"? I grew up with my mom's record of it that looked a lot like this record.

When I was born, my dad brought my older sisters to chicken delight for dinner (where they got two of these records) then dropped them off (!) at the movies to go see my mom and me at the hospital. I grew up playing these cardboard records (never got to eat the chicken tho) and practicing the dance moves on the back of the record. Just loved it💕. Made me so happy. Thank you
I have this record....bought by my parents in circa 1956...and played it over and over and over again til my mom had to hide it.
I’m surprised this wasn’t in the new IT movie.
I had those records when I was a kid! I remember playing them. Another set I had was sparky the talking train.
This had to be the forerunner to “Give the World a Smile.”
Thank You for posting.
It was my Dads (not this one!), he bought a VM 722 when I was 5 yrs young.
